Visit the Sydney Build expo to hear Andy Marlow discuss reducing upfront carbon emissions with passivhaus renovations/retrofits (and lots more!)
What are the hot topics in building right now? They’re the ones being discussed at the big expos - including this year’s Sydney Build Expo. Envirotecture are regularly invited to present and be part of panel discussions to contribute to these informative sessions.
Sustainable renovations and retrofit
Our Director Andy Marlow will be sharing a ‘sustainability workshop’ presentation on 29th April at 2pm, about reducing carbon emissions when it comes to improving existing buildings (not just a focus on new builds). He’ll take a deep dive into the retrofit debate; deep green, light green, do nothing.
Operational Energy and Upfront Carbon
His presentation is titled: Upfront carbon: the only game in town. As best practice has driven operational energy use as low as practically possible, industry focus is shifting to upfront (embodied) carbon. We use a real world example of a residential renovation/retrofit to show the quantum of difference that is possible in reducing whole of life carbon emissions.
But wait, there’s more!
Andy will also be taking part in a discussion panel on Passivhaus and Indoor Air Quality with other industry experts on April 30th at 3pm. Both events are free and open to the public. There’s also a large lineup of speakers across the events program, and tonnes of exhibitors so there’s plenty to explore while you’re there.
