Sydney’s first Certified Passive House

Envirotecture are very proud to announce that the Thornleigh Passivhaus has been certified under the rigorous Passive House standard. It is the first in Sydney.

We also want to acknowledge our friends at Blue Eco Homes in the Blue Mountains who achieved their first Passive House certification on the same day. A joint first in the race for the first certified project in NSW.

A huge congratulations to all of those involved especially our wonderful clients, Matthew and Katherine and the builders, Red Cedar Constructions.

The Thornleigh house will be open as part of Sustainable House Day. There will be demonstration blower door test at 10 & 11am. This house is 44 times more airtight than the average new Australian home!

And yes, it does have water tanks in the front room.
