Pay for Pizza – Get a School!
Dear friend of Envirotecture,
YOU ARE INVITED TO
AN EVENING OF ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE
BRAIN, HEART & SOUL…..
PAY FOR PIZZA – GET A SCHOOL!
…ok, so the school’s in Laos, but education is the key to
eradicating poverty and improving global security
(Hugh Jackman recently said that too).
So what is the occasion? It’s an action-packed* fundraiser where you get all this:
Gourmet Pizza to savour, while watching…
Video made by the fieldworkers in Laos, and our partners Marty & Helen Rowe
A look at the school building in Dongkham Village, south-eastern Laos
see 4WDs swallowed by Vietnam War bomb-craters on the Ho Chi Minh Trail and other images of daily life in rural Laos today
And closer to home:
Stunning images of Lake Eyre in flood, and our recent exploration of the Kimberley & Pilbara
Find out what’s planned for the Kimberley Coast near Broome, WA
Swim with the Whale Sharks and Manta Rays at Ningaloo Reef, and watch Whales and Calves cavorting in the Great Australian Bight!
That’s nothing short of irresistible value for $50 per adult, $25 per student, special family rates,
…and it’s tax deductible!
WHEN – FRIDAY 5th NOVEMBER 7:30pm
WHERE – HARBORD BOWLING CLUB, Bennett Street, Curl Curl (drinks can be purchased at the bar)
Map at www.harbordbowlingclub.com.au/contact
HOW – RSVP by 27 October to 9913 3997 or michelle@envirotecture.com.au, pay by cash or cheque on the night.
Where does the money go?
- $15 pays for the pizza discounted by JC’s Pizza,
- 100% of the remainder goes to Laos to pay for building materials,
- Local villagers put in the labour,
- World Concern/TEAR Fund pay for the supervision etc.
You will be mailed a tax receipt for however much you pay over and above $15, all of which goes straight to Laos to pay for the building materials for the school.
Envirotecture has been involved in this school building project since early 2009, and are very pleased to contribute in this small way to equitable development in the world. We know you are probably already committed to giving in various ways, but we hope that you can spare a bit on this occasion.
Please forward this on to anyone else you think might enjoy the evening.
Thanks, in anticipation from all at Envirotecture,
Dick & Bronwyn Clarke, Michelle Layland, Sam Massey, Tracy Graham, and of course Mullet.
*Personal definitions of ‘action-packed’ may vary, and the organisers take no responsibility for over-excitement on the part of guests. Batteries not included. Packaging recyclable. Carbon Neutral. No animals will be harmed unless we don’t get enough people.
